[Someone appears to have given their Warden the slip, and as she appears on camera, she is thoughtfully considering her bare hand -- which quite suddenly bursts into blue flame. A wicked, triumphant smile passes her lips.]

Now that's more like it!

We'll stay a while, yes? I would so love to mingle.

[And so she is. She doesn't bother replying because she's coming around the corner now. Buffy has managed to avoid being seen by anyone dangerous on the way here, but she did notice a certain small gang of guys in goofy stereotypical comic book villain outfits walking somewhere with bats and guns and makeshift weapons.

They were up to no good and that was where she'd take Azula.

Buffy tucks Mr. Pointy back in her messenger bag and approaches her inmate.]

[Of course, by the time Buffy arrives she's decided she'd like to pass her time another way, just to be difficult. She rounds into a defensive stance with a mischievous grin.]

[Buffy doesn't stop approaching, but her pace slows. She raises her eyebrows at Azula.]

Right now, right here?

[SPAMMAGE]

What, you've got somewhere to be?

[As far as she's aware, Buffy doesn't have any bending abilities. Without her fire, they have been in on even footing, their spars very fast-paced, with Azula generally relying more on avoiding blows than landing any, herself -- she's used to fire and bolt punctuating each gesture. She'd like to see how it will turn out, now that she is no longer encumbered by a sunless barge.]

[Buffy stops walking once she reaches the desired distance, close but with enough space to avoid a sudden hit.

Her stance is mostly relaxed, but ready.]

We have somewhere to be. Let's make this quick.

[Now she's falling into a more obvious defensive position, legs somewhat apart, knees bent, hands raising to form into fists.]

Good. Don't disappoint me.

[She opens with a sudden burst of flame, which is more a tactic for distraction than anything else. She repels off one of the walls in the alley and catches the railing of the fire escape looming above. In a smooth motion, her feet are on the walkway, and she's making her way up toward the roof. They'll need more room to move around after all.]

Don't keep me waiting, Warden.

[She won't. Don't worry.

Buffy ducks the fire, instinctively grabbing her hair. She instantly starts to follow Azula. She jumps straight up and impossibly high to grab onto the fire escape and pulls herself up with ease.] If you burn my hair, we're going to have to have a serious talk. There will be lecturing and everything.

[Her tone is joking, but as she starts to move up the stairs, she quickly ties her hair back.]

Good -- [Another blast through the stairs and grating down toward her.] -- I'll try not to fall asleep from boredom.

[She doesn't take the stairs so much as hop from one landing to the next with surprising grace. When she finally alights to the roof she finds it blessfully abandoned, with some pipelines and other protrusions to make the fight a little more interesting. She perches atop a door leading down into the building, waiting]

[Buffy dodges the second blast easily, tumbling to one side of the platform, then flipping to her feet.

She starts to take the steps two at a time, and when she reaches the top, she scans the surroundings and unsurprisingly, doesn't see Azula.

Buffy places her messenger bag at the top of the fire escape and cautiously treads in, reaching out with her senses, focusing.

She then intentionally faces her back to where Azula is and starts to move the other way.]

[Azula didn't figure herself for being that well concealed, but then it's also dark. For a moment she indulges the predatory part of herself that toys with its meal before moving in for the kill. It's a minute or two to savor the fact that she is in control. She already has the upper hand.

As usual, as far as she is concerned. She'll never acknowledge that Buffy probably wordlessly offers an indulgence or two to spare her ego.

She tires of this soon enough, and holds up a palm; it bursts silently to life with blue light. Just as she's letting it fly--]

Too slow.

[Buffy knew something was coming, and as soon as she hears the voice of her inmate, she's rolling on the ground and to the side, leaping up instantly. The Slayer starts to charge towards Azula, watchful, light on her feet, and ready.

Losing, especially here, is not an option. No matter how powerful and skilled Azula is, she can't afford to lose. It would kind of ruin everything. Plus, she isn't so sure the girl wouldn't kill her if she had the chance.]

[Azula comes down from her perch, flipping from hand to foot along the edge of the building without any seeming fear of gravity. When she closes in for a strike, albeit sans any burst of flame for once, it is as it was been during their spars in the gymnasium. Her movements to an onlooker who did not know better would seem almost a dance, fluid, sometimes swift, other times slow, but the blows themselves -- how could they have any power behind them? The strikes come from snaps of the wrist or the arm, sometimes the leg, each carrying hidden force.]
